Could you give me concrete examples of GEN activities?
GEN will organize international and national events (like conferences, seminars, workshops, study tours) focused on editorial strategies of our community and other partners in the media industry. GEN’s first annual conference will take place by the end of 2011.
GEN will foster the creation of national associations or guilds of editors-in-chief in countries that do not have yet these structures, as in the Arab world or in Asia.
GEN will set up a range of new services for editors to be introduced very shortly:
1 – the Editors’ Lab will work on the development of mutualised services, applications and content management systems for the news media.
2 – the Editors’ Institute will certify training on media strategies, newsroom integration, new information platforms and social networking technologies.
3 – the Editors’ Marketplace will offer a transactional platform between editors and suppliers for the news media.
