78 Projects Shortlisted for Data Journalism Awards 2015

The shortlist for the Data Journalism Awards 2015 is now out! (See here.) From among nearly 500 submissions, Global Editors Network (GEN) is proud to announce the selection of 78 outstanding entries. A jury of data journalism experts will now spend the next six weeks deliberating over the ten winners - one winner for each of the ten categories. The ten winners will be announced during the Data Journalism Awards Ceremony from 8pm to 11pm on 18 June during the GEN Summit in Barcelona. You can follow the excitement on Twitter using the hashtag #DJA2015.

Simon Rogers, Data Editor at Google Newslab and the Director of this year’s DJA, said: “The standard of entries this year was incredibly high. The entries represent every kind of data journalism; from long read investigations to quick hit visualisations, the whole spectrum of this growing field is represented in the shortlist. Two things were particularly striking: the number of high-quality entries from relative newcomers to data journalism and the global spread of work that combines the telling of great stories with open and accessible data."
