Jodie Hopperton has been appointed Chief Operating Officer & Director of Communications & Marketing for the Global Editors Network from 1st September 2013. After chairing the Data Journalism Awards at the GEN Summit in Paris this June, she was impressed with the organisation and the global potential it has for promoting innovation with newsrooms. Jodie brings her newspaper and media experience, global network and enthusiasm for the media industry to the organisation. Jodie began her media career in the UK with publisher Trinity Mirror in 2003, managing the interactive and mobile strategy for the group's regional, and then national, newspapers. After moving from London to Paris in 2006, she worked for the World Association of Newspapers, in editorial and then sales & marketing. Jodie was appointed Regional Director, EMEA at the New York Times News Service & Syndicate in January 2011 after joining the team in 2008.
