In my career, I've helped launch an online news organization (OpenFile), created an award-winning blog and media brand (Regret the Error), authored two award winning non-fiction books and been a columnist, contributor and editor for websites, newspapers and magazines in the U.S. and Canada.
Here are my current projects:
—I write the Regret the Error blog and deliver training programs for the Poynter Institute For Media Studies.
—I’m working with the European Journalism Centre on a project dedicated to verification. I edited the Verification Handbook, and now we’re working to create training programs and a new website dedicated to the discipline of verification and its best practices.
—I’m completing a strategy study for the American Press Institute about best practices related to transparency and credibility in newsrooms, and I'm beginning work on a second study about innovation in newsrooms.
—I’m advising Nexalogy, a social data analysis company.
