Daniela Kraus is Director of fjum_forum for journalism and media Vienna and a developer of trainings and ideas for digital transition. She holds a PhD in History. After doing historical research with grants by the Austrian Academy of Sciences and working as a journalism freelancer, she was a project manager with an emphasis on media development, media training and media education. From 2005 – 2011 she was co-founder and managing director of research-company Medienhaus Wien. Kraus has been managing several national and European Union funded research projects on the development of journalism and on journalism training; she has been lecturing at Universities and Journalism Academies. Among her publications is the book series “Journalisten-Report” (together with Andy Kaltenbrunner and Matthias Karmasin) on Austria’s news people and their work (based on David Weaver’s groundbreaking studies on the US). From 2011 to present Kraus has been building up and heading mid-career training institution fjum.
