Welcoming by GEN and presentation of the Editors Lab programme & rules

9:30 - 11:00: Speed Geeking

Each participating team has 3 minutes to present to each other the most innovative project released by their newsrooms in recent months.

11:00 - 11:45: Workshop on Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) given by Google's Rica Handayani

11:45 - 12:50Lunch break

12:50 - 13:20: Workshop on mobile & ethics given by Tom Law from the Ethical Journalism Network

13:20 - 15:00: Brainstorming session

15:00 - 15:30: Coffee break

15:00 - 17:00: Brainstorming & working session

17:00: Mini pitch session

Teams will have 1 minute to:
- Describe the problem they are trying to solve
- Describe their target audience
- Give a one sentence description of their prototype

18:00 - 19:00: Dinner

 

Day 2 - Saturday 14 May

Venue: Binus International, JWC (The Joseph Wibowo Center), Jl. Hang Lekir I No.6, RT.1/RW.3, Senayan, Kota Jakarta Pusat, Daerah Khusus Ibukota Jakarta

9:30 - 11:30: Working session

11:30 - 12:30: Lunch break

12:30 - 14:30: Last sprint working session

14:30 - 15:00: Project submission deadline
The participants must submit their projects on the GEN Community website

15:00 - 15:30: Coffee break

15:30 - 18:00: Editors Lab conference

- Welcome from AJI & Binus University International

- Talk by Imam Wahyudi, Indonesian Press Council member

- Presentation of Editors Lab programme by GEN

- Final pitches by Editors Lab teams - 4 minutes for each team

- "How to turn your passion into profit" — presentation on monetisation strategies by Jeanny Haliman from Google

- Announcement of the winning team

18:00: Closing cocktail
