FIRST DAY - Saturday 29 March - 

9:30 a.m. : Coffee & Welcome 

  • Welcoming of participants by the host and Global Editors Network
  • Presentation of the GEN Editors’ Lab programme rules (local Hackdays and final Hackathon). 
  • Presentation of projects developed during previous Hackdays

10:30 a.m : Reuters Masterclass

  • Background on Polling and Elections projects 
  • How to access the Reuters API to work with data that will help teams to innovate
  • Graphics and visualizations created using the polling data
  • Development work that went into building polling widget/API

11:15 a.m. : Hacking begins

1:00 p.m. : Lunch

3:00 p.m. : Bocoup Masterclass

  • Tips on useful tools to hack better and faster

3:30 p.m. : Hacking continues

5 p.m. : 1st Pitch session 

  • During 1 minute, the teams will have to :
  • Announce the title of their projects
  • Explain what is the problem they want to solve with their projects
  • Explain how they are going to solve it

6:30 p.m. : Cocktails  

 

SECOND DAY - Sunday 30 March - 

9:30 a.m. : Hacking begins

1:00 p.m. : Lunch

3:30 p.m. : Project submission deadline

3:30 p.m. : Prototype testing  

  • The jury members will have the opportunity to test each prototypes. 

4:30 p.m. : Pitch session

  • 7 minute max per team. The teams will have 5 minutes to pitch their projects. 1 or 2 questions from jury. 1 minute max to answer each question

6 p.m. : Jury deliberates

6:30 p.m : Hackdays award and cocktails
