Google have been proud and engaged strategic partners of the Global Editors Network since GEN's inception in 2011. Google’s mission to organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful compliments GEN's focus on converging, sharing and innovating. As GEN strategic partners Google have been strong supporters of GEN programmes, in particular the Data Journalism Awards and the GEN Editors Lab, attending national Hackdays across the globe in both the first two seasons of the programme. Google showed their high opinion of the unique GEN Editors Lab programme by doubling their investment year on year. As the Editors Lab programme continues to grow, Google will be a key partner for GEN and their influential presence at the GEN annual Summit is now a regular addition.
