Amanda is one of Australia’s most experienced and respected newspaper journalists. Her career has spanned almost 40 years in Australia, the UK, Hong Kong and China. Amanda was appointed Editor of The Sydney Morning Herald in January 2011, the first woman to hold the position in the paper’s 180 years of continuous publication. Amanda has worked at The Sydney Morning Herald since 1995, and has played a pivotal role in consolidating the newspaper’s status as the city’s most authoritative print, online and digital news outlet. She has held a variety of senior positions at the paper including Foreign editor, Features editor, Weekend editor, and Deputy Editor.
