Francesco Marconi was recently appointed R&D chief and head of the Editorial Lab at The Wall Street Journal. In this new role, he will be fostering a culture of innovation and continuing to elevate WSJ’s position as a leader in the news industry. Previously he worked at the Associated Press in New York City, where he focused on media strategy in virtual reality, artificial intelligence and data as manager of strategy and corporate development. Also a Tow Fellow at Columbia University, Marconi explores how journalists and entrepreneurs can adopt tomorrow’s technologies to tell powerful stories today. His ideas have been featured on Inc. Magazine, Huffington Post, PBS Media Shift, Quartz, and MIT Media. Francesco studied management and journalism at the University of Missouri and did his post graduate work at Harvard University and Columbia Business School.
