Saurav is the founder-editor of Fountain Ink, a monthly magazine devoted to long-form narrative journalism in India. Started in 2011, Fountain Ink has since published some of best of long-form from India, as well as some exemplary reportage on the Arab Spring and the Syrian conflict.
Saurav has previously worked at The New Indian Express in Bangalore where he had the dual role as a reporter and the head of the city desk. While there he produced some in-depth reportage on the Maoist conflict in India.
Saurav, who has a Bachelor's degree in law, has also worked at the Indian Express, Ahmedabad, where he covered labour, courts, health, crime and environment. He was a part of the newspaper's team that covered the post-26/11 terrorism investigation from Gujarat.
