Working journalist, writer and blogger at present associated with Pakistan’s largest-circulated English daily DAWN in Karachi. Areas of interest include democracy, conduct of elections, human rights, poverty, environment and media development.
Contributor for UPI Next’s ‘Impact Pakistan’ project, a year-long online training and mentoring programme for journalists that was built around the May 11 elections in collaboration with INTERMEDIA-Pakistan and Pak Institute for Peace Studies.
Completed Beaconhouse National University and Rozan’s 6-month ‘Media Fellowship on Social Justice’ in June 2013.
In 2011, participated in the US Department of State’s project for Pakistani journalists: ‘The New Faces of American Journalism and Activism: Blogging and Social Media’ under the International Leadership Visitor Program that included a variety of appointments with individuals and representatives of organisations in Washington D.C., San Francisco, Stanford University, Austin and New York.
