Muhammad Sheikh

International Broadcaster Journalist who served Radio Pakistan over three decades. During my professional career (1972- 2010), I gained adequate experience of working in 10- PBC Stations and 4- International channels, BBC, SKY TV, DLI Sports International and Century Television, UK. Being Bi-media specialist (Engineering and programme production), I am well equipped with production processes to studio acoustics, transmission and computer-aided broadcasting. Besides, I have also the honour to be the first webcaster in the country.

During my academics gain and professional assignments in UK,I worked as a contract employee in world leading DSNG company Advent communication at Chesham Buckinghamshire and Dage communication, Aylesbury ,UK.

As a deputy controller (Head of National Broadcasting Service) I initiated online distribution of news and audio material using FTP and VPN to various media outlets functioning under PBC and affiliates. As a producer, senior producer and programme manager I produced hundreds of quality programmes for National circuit and for International broadcasting institutions.

I feel proud mentioning that I’ma trend setter of investigating reporting in Pakistan’s Public broadcast media by starting a programme CHALTA PERTA MICROPHONE back in 1982. Later, alike programme was started ON PTV.

Using my links with top media companies, CMA UK and DLI international, Racal Acoustic (Radio Communication) Harrow Wealdstone UK, BBC, Shaper bush (OB, Eng Section) . I ‘m rationalized with the knowledge of Digital broadcasting system and changed culture of Radio broadcasting adding, podcasting, streaming media technology, Social Media Strategy and Newsroom Integration for better Production and presentation.

Few credentials as media specialist

• Appointed PBC Representative in UK for News Coverage during my higher studies in London School of Journalism and Surrey University Guildford(1986-89)

• Hundreds of my Radio reports have been given an extensive coverage in National and International news papers and websites.

• Prepared and submitted a compressive plan to Ministry of I & B to curb terrorism and extremism through Radio Education and Awareness Programme ‘CHAMALANG Beneficiary Education System In Tribal Areas’ (A joint US and Government of Baluchistan programme)

• Successfully launched FM 101 and designed wide range of special programmes for this new channel of PBC. These programmes set a new trend of broadcast, causing a big boost in its introduction listening and substantial monetary gain through FM radio advertisement.)

• Covered 40 International tournaments Live from UK, Sri Lanka, South Africa and Pakistan including world mega event of sports world cup-1999 live from UK.

• Visited England, USA, South Africa, Sri Lanka, UAE and Saudi Arabia in an official capacity to attend seminars and reporting.
