  • Presentation of the GEN Editors Lab programme rules.

9:30: Speed Geeking

Each participating teams meet and have five minutes to present to each other the most innovative project released by their newsrooms in the last months.

10:30: Coffee Break

11:00: Workshop "How to use data for stories on public health issues" with Syed Nazakat (CEO & Editor-In-Chief, DataLEADS - Health Analytics India) 

11:30: Lightning talk "Why is public health journalsim important to invest in?" with Venkatesh H R (ICFJ-Knight Fellow, International Center for Journalists)

12:00: Workshop "How to use multiple datasets for effective storytelling" with Harry Stevens (Journalist, Hindustan Times)

13:00: Lunch

14:00: Lightning talk "What to be mindful of when designing digital products" with Himanshu Khanna (Founder & CEO, SPARKLIN)

18:00 : Mini pitch session

The teams will have one minute to:

  1. Describe the problem they are trying to solve
  2. Describe their target audience
  3. Announce in one sentence what they are going to prototype

10:30: "How to pitch" tips

15:45: Project submission deadline. All prototypes must be submitted to the GEN Community.

16:30: Pitch session

  • The participants will have five minutes to pitch their projects
  • One minute for questions from the jury
