Editors Lab in Australia
On 1-2 March 2018, the Global Editors Network (GEN) and The Walkley Foundation, with the support of Google News Lab, will gather some of the best media innovators from the region in Sydney for a two-day hackathon to develop innovative news prototypes on the theme of "Connecting with local communities".
Theme: "Connecting with local communities"
You can contact Helen Sullivan (helen.sullivan[at]walkleys.com), Walkleys communications manager, with your interest. And if you’re freelance or otherwise don’t have a full team, we’ll see if we can help match you up with other interested parties.
About our partners
Special thanks to The Walkley Foundation for co-organising Editors Lab in Australia with GEN for the third year in a row. The Walkley Foundation is at the very heart of the Australian media. It has been established to promote excellence in journalism in all its forms including visual arts, literature, film, video, television, photography, documentary and radio.
Google's mission is to organise the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful. Google News Lab was created to support the creation and distribution of the information that keeps us all informed about what's happening in our world today—quality journalism.
