All the teams will have a chance to meet speed dating style. You can show off a recent project from your newsroom.
10:00am - 10:20am: Workshop with Wanning Sun (Australia-China Relations Institute)
10:20am - 10:40am: Workshop with Danny Teece-Johnson (National Indigenous Television)
10:40am - 11:00am: Coffee and snack break
11:00am - 11:45am: Google News Lab workshop with Nic Hopkins
11:45am – 1:00pm: Brainstorming session
1:00pm: Working lunch
2:00pm: Prototyping session
5:00pm: Mini pitch session
Teams have one minute to announce:
- What is the problem you are trying to solve?
- Who is your target audience?
- What are you going to prototype?
6:00pm: Drinks at Pyrmont Bridge Hotel (96 Union Street Pyrmont)


9:00am: Keep working on your prototypes
1:00pm: Working lunch
2:00pm - 4:30pm: Final hacking sprint!
4:30pm: Project submission deadline
The participants have to submit their projects on the GEN Community website
5:00pm - 6.30pm: Final pitch session
Pitches: The teams have four minutes to present their projects to the jury.
6.30pm: Jury deliberation
7:00pm: Winners announced, canapés and drinks at Google
