GEN Summit 2015: Diversity, Engagement, Innovation
The GEN Summit aspires to be the number one conference for media innovators worldwide. Organised by the Global Editors Network, it is the the most diverse conference in terms of participants, partner engagement and media content. This year’s Summit centred around the theme ‘Prototyping the Future of News’ and took place in Barcelona from 17-19 June 2015. It gathered 600 editors-in-chief and media innovators from all over the world.
The GEN Summit is the most unique conference for editors-in-chief across all platforms: print, broadcast, pure online players. This year, a third of the Summit participants were women.
Innovative Speakers and Sessions
We were proud to welcome the most innovative speakers in the media industry representing a cross section of media platforms. We enabled participants to experience a virtual reality demo.
We tripled the number of external GEN Summit participants through our live blogs, live streams and social networks. The exchanges were numerous and were also highly interactive.

The GEN Summit 2015
The fifth annual GEN Summit: 'Prototyping the Future of News' took place in Barcelona 17-19 June 2015. Newsrooms today will survive and thrive only by merging content with technology. The GEN Summit provides practical solutions for immediate implementation in your newsroom. Over 3 days, the GEN Summit brought together the brightest minds in the industry in Barcelona to discuss and challenge the future of media. Many diverse media organisations were represented, providing an ideal setting to network with our growing community of media innovators.
