The first unconference was held in partnership with the European Federation of Journalists (EFJ), which represents 32,0000 journalists from 71 organisations across 43 countries. We gathered a group of 30 experts from GEN’s and EFJ’s networks from around Europe.
Working groups tackled topics ranging from how to explain the news process; how to make facts go viral; how to collaborate with EU institutions, educators, platforms; and how to balance access to fact checks and content monitisation. 10:00 - 10:30: Masterclass with Tom Law
10:30-11:00: Schedule building exercise
11:00 - 12:15: First sessions of the day as decided by the participants during the previous exercise — 2 - 4 breakout groups, according to interest (more idea/concept-based)
12:15 - 12:30: Recap of morning working groups
12:30 - 13:30: Lunch
13:30-15:00: Afternoon sessions, as decided by participants (more practical/solutions/tools-based)
15:00-16:00: Fishbowl exercise & final wrap
