Unconference in Brussels

The Media Literacy Toolkit

06 November 2018

The first unconference was held in partnership with the European Federation of Journalists (EFJ), which represents 32,0000 journalists from 71 organisations across 43 countries. We gathered a group of 30 experts from GEN’s and EFJ’s networks from around Europe.

Working groups tackled topics ranging from how to explain the news process; how to make facts go viral; how to collaborate with EU institutions, educators, platforms; and how to balance access to fact checks and content monitisation. Stay tuned for the white paper with takeaways from this unconference. It will be available for download on this page by the end of November.

See all the photos from the event here.

You can follow the programme's progress on Twitter with #GENmedialit. The next unconference is in Vienna on 23 January 2019.
